Default Nitrous purge question......

Do you guys purge before each run, or only before the first run? And how long before you make the run do you purge? I think maybe I'm purging too soon, then the nitrous is getting hot in the line. Is the idea to do it instantly before you run so the nitrous in the line is cold (liquid)? My NMU gets really hot as it is on the inner fender, just across from the header. Is that ok? I don't know where else I could mount it. (It's a Zex kit) I saw by searching that most guys purge with 3 short blasts, so I'll have to do that now, as I was purging with one big blast. I have a problem with my nitrous going flat on me for a second or 2 in the middle of 2nd gear. I just purged more than I usually do, and noticed that I get a split second of nothing, then a white cloud, then about a second of nothing again, then more white cloud, but not as white as the first white cloud. I think I wasn't purging enough to get that second of nothing out. It must be that air gets up in the line somehow, or the nitrous turns to gas and pushes back the line, even if I don't disconnect the bottle? Maybe from waiting too long and it gets hot? I hate purging much because it seems like a big waste of nitrous, but it seems it is necessary for me to purge more.

You purge just before your going to use it.

Do you have a Nitrous gauge?a bottle heater?

I purge to get the line pressure the same every time for consistency, but without a gauge it is just a guess.

Other people running the NOS will have different routines , but if your jetted for a 900lb shot and you go on 1100 you run a risk of not having enough fuel to support the NOS and BOOM parts on the track

I have a gauge and a heater, pressure stays around 900 to 950, hits 1000 with a full bottle. It's a Zex kit so it is suppose to make up for the variation in bottle pressure. So, I should purge just before (like seconds before) I use it. How much do you purge? Like 2 seconds worth?

just blip it until the purge looks strong, then look at your gauge.

me I watch the gauge to get the pressure where I want it after the purge - this aint rocket science - and whoever said N2O is the cheapest HP must have said that before they started refilling bottles
