Hi, own a 94 c-4 stock and I just joined this forum, and just started having problems, what luck! looked at a lot of post on this problem but none answer my problem, the car always runs around 200-215 degrees today I noticed it up to 237 on digital and in between the second to last hash and the 260 mark, got it out on open road temps around 80 degrees at night car temp dropped to 201-204, at home I lifted hood and watched temps at idle within a couple of minutes it shot up to 238 and kept climbing shut it off, and fans never came on, a/c was never on, was a mechanic for 13 years in the 70's, checked all fuses, is my fan shot, or is it a sensor? gang fangled new stuff!
Just purchased this car It sat for seven years and only had 542 miles driven in that time, I figured some things would go wrong , have no idea were relay is and as far as hot wiring fan well that's a little beyond me, and haven't had time to search for a manual, but thanks for response, I'm sixty years old and climbing around a car that's inches off the road could be tricky but I'm a doit yourselfer.
This is a great sight with alot of knowledgable folks, glad to be a member, went and bought two relays today easy installation, fans now running, Thanks to all!
Took a garden hose to the opening at the fan, you wouldn't believe the crap that came out, I'm impressed, drove it around tonight it runs cooler, had a ball, I'm on vacation and just go nuts driving this car, my last toy was a 69 chevelle prostreet with a 454 ls1, it doesn't even compare to this, didn't want to go home, need to get more power out of this car any ideas? I'll bet plenty!
