Does yours use oil? Does it run poorly? If not that means you want to replace something that isn't broke?

If it breaks can't you replace the motor then instead of getting rid of the car?

so rather than repair something when it's time, you'll just swap the entire engine?

www.golenengineservice.com has a good reputation for crate LT1s from what I understand. Id be afraid of trusting a high mile motor after a certain point too, expecially if you like to stand on it. Time bomb. Mine has a ton of miles on it too and runs super strong but it could snap tomorrow, miles is miles.

Chad is an awesome guy to deal with. He built my 580hp 396 but can build you a good reliable 350 for daily driving.

I got a 440HP 383 LT1 from Chad at Golen last year. Runs great, especially with the computer chip he recommended from PCMfor less. Looks like he's raised his prices a little - most likely because of the good reputation he's been building. I raced an '08 vette last week and pulled on him pretty good from 90 to 120.

is there a way i can buy one and just drop it in and connect it or do i have to start with the block and then buy more things? i dont understand how these engines come...or even options. and that site above shows a 350 for camaros and impallas...can i drop that in mine?

An assembled long block is everything from the pan to the cylinder heads. call them for specifics as far as extra parts go. Some places dont supply an oil pan, timing cover, etc.
You should be able to remove your accessories from your old motor, bolt them on the new one and drop it in, best way to go IMO.
