We have this thread a lot, I think the overall consensus is that you take a big risk of poor fit if you don't get original GM weatherstrip. I do not know how much this costs or how to install it, but I need to do this badly.
Go for GM weatherstrip. The aftermarket are a mixed bag. I just installed weatherstrip from Lonestar and was NOT impressed with the quaility. I learned this lesson the hard way: You get what you pay for.
I got the super convertible kit here for my '92. I did not have any problem with fit or quality. The only thing I noticed was a small bubble in the corner of one strip, and that was on the underside that isn't visible or a structural problem. And they have a good return policy. I was very pleased with the price too.
In installing it, I had to remember that rubber stretches, and for that big piece that goes around the windshield, you need to make sure not to stretch it or compress it when you start on one end, or you'll get to a corner and have to much or not enough.

If you do a search, you will see many opinions, I used Corvette Rubber from Wilcox because I saw many people post that they had used this for the A-Pillar and had good luck. Mine fit perfect and no leaks.
Where is the best place to get new weatherstriping? I'm needing the header and around the windows on my convertible
Thanks everybody for the input, I'm going to check out the quality of the weatherstrip special place in san jose as I live pretty close and I think the header strip from GM is about $300.00 by itself. I'l let you know what I find out!!

If this is the same Corvette Rubber as I bought from direct, the number of satisfied customers (for the A Pillar) may not be as high as you think. See my recent post in C4 General.
It is a no win situation. Nothing fits like gm, but nothing falls apart and turns to crap as fast as GM either.
I have used aftermarket on the rear window, and fenderwells with very good luck.
My A and B pillars (genuine gm) lasted 1 year befor it split. Gm door w/s split in 6 months and the rear window lasted 1 1/2 years(also gm)
