Default Which band clamp for exhaust?

Well there is 2 I am looking at, I dont want anything to wide or big, but anything is better than the u bolts that are on the back right now.
It is an 3" slp catback, and everything is slip fit together, but I believe the pipes do not have the notch cut into the side to get them really tight. I am just interested in getting the 2 rear ones for right now, as those are the only visible ones.
I think the #2 ones look like they would be a little loose on the 1 pipe that overlaps the other pipe.
What do you think, #1 or #2?

I have used #2 style with great success, on 3 different cat backs

Slip joint connect is the style that clamp is for

It looks to be a little wide, I dont want it to stand out too much from the back of the car. The exhaust isnt coming apart anytime soon, its pretty well stuck together for the past 9 (easy) years.
I see the stock clamp that holds the catback to the stock maifold is the #1 style, it seems to work good.
Thanks for the info, im going to make up my mind sometime tommorow.

I used the #2 type, double bolt, and it didn't work. I couldn't tighten the thing enough to squeeze the slits I have in my eliminator pipes.
I tried clamping at the edge of the joint, and in the middle, and I still got leaks, and I could turn the pipes with the clamps tightened as tight as possible. (I used Napa band clamps)

They looked nice but, I had to go back to the u-clamps.

Why not just have it welded?

I've seen both used and both work great. It's a matter of personal preference,

I just like being able to know that if for any reason in the future I need to remove or dis-assemble the exhaust I will have no problem in doing so.

Thanks everyone for the replies , it looks like Im going to tru getting the #1 style.
