Yes. lots have eliminated it. Most people buy a delete bracket. expensive for what you get. Doubt if it helps performance, but does clean up the engine bay a bit. Lots on this here on the forum, just do a search

I did it on my '85. Very happy. My ride lost 30# AND an annoying hiss that it was causing. Add to that a MUCH cleaner engine bay and I am truly tickled.
I did pay the $150 for the pulley. But I also did the 2-piece underdrive kit at the same time. Once I got the right belt it was all good.
Fill out your profile, man. I have no idea what year of corvette you're talking about, and that makes a big difference when you're talking about the AIR pump. I removed the AIR system entirely from my LT4. It's easier to remove on the LT1/LT4 engines because it isn't belt driven. All that equipment weighs under 10 pounds on the late models, but the engine bay is 100000 times more accessible without all that plumbing. I no longer need to move anything aside to change my spark plugs; I just reach in and change them.
