Default what displacement and more?

Would the displacement of a 350 bored .060 over with a 400 crank be a 388 or would it be a little more? also is there any way possible to figure out the cam specs if they are not known? not 100% but lift could be .510/.533

Is it a cam you already have? There should be a grind # stamped into the nose of it.

bore of 4.060 and stroke of 3.75 is 388.39

If unable to identify cam to cross reference specs ,
have to physically measure the lift/duration using a degree wheel and dial gauge

thanks for confirming the displacement. the motor is all together but who knows when dropping it in the vette i might have to sneak a peak at it. it is carbed but want to put my stealthram on it. For tuning that will probably happen i believe it would be best to figure out the specs just a hunch . also it has 1.6 roller rockers and am thinking that affects the lift so how do i figure that correct me if i am wrong.

I wold highly recommend pulling the timing cover and chain off to get a PN off it to make sure it will be a computer friendly cam. Easy to do if its out of the car.

If you are referring to a gear drive, then you will have issues with the knock sensor and the computer. Gear drives are fine with a carb, but not so good with factory fuel injection.

If the engine is out of car you can measure lift directly by pulling a rocker cover and measuring the movement of the pushrod (lowest point to highest ) using a dial gauge. Not as good as off cam but good ballpark.

Lift = cam lift measurement x your rocker ratio
To get the duration you need a cam degree wheel mounted on the balancer with a pointer for reference

good info but for future tuning reasons how exact do i have to be? i don't have the tools mentioned but i think i know someone who does and actually might help. but then again he's an old school racer who has everything his own way. he would probably tell me to just pull the cam so im positive of the specs. but its worth a try. he has very pretty vettes though and trust him with anything i have
