hey, i just bought the summit aluminum heads 200cc intake runners, 64 comp chambers 2.02 valves small based circle Lunati cam 489 lift, the roller rockers dont seem to be sitting square on valve stems, im thinking i need the .100 oversized pushrods? wondering if anyone has had any experiance with the summit heads.
It is probably more the reduced base circle cam, but it could be the heads, too. Why the reduced base circle cam??? You will have to start from scratch with a checking push rod to determine the correct push rod length, to establish the proper valve train geometry for your particular parts combination, And then order a custom length set of push rods.
i tried the regular cam but it hit the rods, and they were the "stroker clearanced scat capscrew rods" so go figure, clearanced for what they wont tell me, lol, yeah, thought i could get away with easy .100 but i will have to buy the rod checker i guess
.... but i will have to buy the rod checker i guess
Proper valve train geometry is critical for a reliability and help ensure the longevity of expensive valve train components.
I would not skip measuring for proper push-rod length, the Comp Cams push-rod checkers are inexpensive and relatively easy to use.
