Antenna mast...
I have a 93 and when my antenna retracts it stays extended about 3 inches. I'm told only the mast needs replacing and that is a simple task. Is it ?..... and if it is, does anyone have easy "how to" directions....I assume I can get a new mast from one of the vette vendors..... thanks to all.... :flag

Mine did the same thing I bought a replacement from JC Whitney its a direct replacement , don't remember the cost about 20 or 25 bucks. Installed the new mast was very easy, and the same thing the mast wouldn't go all the way down, read on a thread about taking the motor apart to take out the pieces left from the broken mast. Guess what it was riveted, so finally bought a new one from Jeff at Superior Chev he was much cheaper then the catalogs. Followed the instructions in the tech section and replaced it, just a tip, its easier if you take off rear wheel , and the trim on the left side of rear hatch . Good luck Jim

It is easy to replace the mast, instructions come with the unit. They are inexpensive, $30-40 depending where you purchase it. The problem comes in if a piece is broke or left in the motor. Mid-america sells entire units for 99.00-119.00.
I tried to replace the mast, and everything got screwed up, long story. I then pruchased an entire unit. For piece of mind, go for the new unit.

I purchased one from Jeff Kopp (18caran) @ Superior Chevrolet 800-728-8267 several months back for about 20-25 bucks and it was a OEM replacement.
