hey all i just got my 1988 35th Anniversary corvette 3 days ago, i was driving home from work tonight, with my lights up. when i stoped and the inside lights on the dash, radio, and A/C went out. i was like "WTF". so i turned my lights off for a second and my dash, radio, and A/C lights came on. turned my lights back on and they went dark again. i can see they are working when a street light goes over me and i can read my dash. i played with the dimmer to turn it up but it does nothing. i can turn it to where the courtesy lights come on but not the dash, radio, and A/C. i even tried restarting the car but nothing. any help would be greatly appreciated
Open the passenger side door. On the end of the dash is the fuse panel. Remove the cover and see if the INST LPS 3 amp fuse is blown.
Should have around 12 volts at that fuse when the headlight switch is in HEAD or PARK. Rotating the dimmer switch will vary the voltage.
........if the lights went "dark" and then he "reactivated" the switch and they came on again momentarily, then it could not be the fuse because once the fuse blows, it stays blown...
