Default vette in flames!!!

I went out to my car last night and found the battery dead, OK no big deal so I throw the charger to it and once the battery is back up I'll look for the draw. After putting the charger on it I went inside for Min or so, I come out to see flames behided the windshield!!!! So I ran grabbed the hose a open the door to put it out. I ended up losing the driver seat, door panel, and steering wheel + a ton of clean up time. I tore into the car to find out what might have started this and it looks to be the driver seat motor it got so hot the it burned though the floor board. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this?? and that this was my draw but I don't know why the seat worked perfect up till then.

Thanks

Car is a 93 BTW

I would check your fuse block. An accessory should never have been able to draw that much current without blowing a fuse.

I had the same thought, The seat breaker should have triped and reset then triped so for and so on I'm having a hard time understanding how this could of happened the seat motors should get 12v's but will have no load till you move the seat.

Are those seat motors on a relay? Maybe the relay went bad?
