The previous owner of my '86 had a 4-point cage installed. Since the main part of the bar is welded to the frame in the area between the back of the seat and the rear wheel well hump, I'm now limited to how far back I can move the seats. If I was any taller than 5'10" I couldn't drive the car. It might make selling my car a little bit more difficult as well. Just thought you should be aware of this :). My webpage has a few pics of the rollbar.
You need to decide if you want a roll bar or a roll cage. There is a difference. I have a roll bar. You only need a roll bar if you are in Group III in NCCC racing. If you need to be in Group III RPAF (race prepared altered frame) then you need a full roll cage. I have a http://www.tpis.com bar in my car. I thought it wasn't too bad to weld in myself. I took a welding class so I know just enough about welding to be dangerous. I hear they aren't offering this bar any more tho. Most roll bars don't allow the roof to fit inside so that might be a concern also. I bought one of those folding canvas tops for my car and that works fine. When racing I of coarse put on the solid roof panel for maximum rigidity, hahahaha. If you have a question about whether you need a bar or a cage show us what mods you have done and we can tell you what class you are in. I don't know a lot about NHRA classes so somebody else will have to help us there.

Re: roll cage (RECKLESS)
Welcome to the forum.
I just had a 5 point bar installed. I still have full asjustment of the seat and the swingout side bar works fine. I looked at all the kit bars but none were NHRA legal.
