I only have about $1500 to work with and want to do heads and cam if I can while I have the intake and front cover off the engine. I'd love to have a new set of AFR Eliminators but they are way out of my price range. I have done a lot of thread seaching and asked questions of local engine shops and around the drag strip. It seems my options are as follows, but I'm not sure how to proceed.

1) button everything up with no new cam or heads - intake leak will be fixed and new Opti, waterpump, and timing gears installed. - Cost $0.00 at this point.(already have all these parts)

2) have my LT1 heads worked at local machine shop with 3angle valve job and light porting - around $400, install thier recomended cam, lifters and rocker arms - probably another $500,

3) same as number 2 above, but buy the Hot Cam kit from Superior Chevrolet

4) Loyd Elliot package LE1 heads and cam package $1,200

What other options might I have with the money I have to work with?

Im a big fan of AFRs, but if you can get a LE H/C pkg for $1200 that may work better into your budget.

Check out the pricing on Edelbrock`s performance package for the LT-1,I think it might come close to fitting in your budget.

I would go for #4 also but maybe the LE2. I did AFR's, cam and headers and I am down about 40rwhp compared to the LE2.
