Default Poor half throttle response when warm?

Hi folks, I have 88 (auto) vette with all the cheap mods, TPS sensor 0.58v, ignition timing 6 BTDC and TV cable adjusted.

On mornings when the car is in open loop it feels truly alive and crisp. Half throttle response is amazing but when it warms it loses the crispness. What could be causing this? When engine warm it feels that it only has 2 modes: WOT or cruise. If you try to accelerate with half throttle pedal play, it has very little response.

Also when shifting from 2nd to 3rd in half throttle it feels like rubber band sometimes. Rpms drop and I have to push the pedal more to keep the speed. No issue when WOT accelerating?

But as I said, when cold the car acts like a champ. Any idea?

No engine work done, should be healthy engine.

No codes other than intermittent 32 from EGR removal..

Hmm, the EGR has been removed over 3-4 years ago when I did most of my cheap mods (ported plenum, airfoil, coil, wires etc..).

I feel thou that the problem has been gradually but very sloowly building, thus I have not noticed it before.

But nowdays the difference between cold car and warm car is too obvious. I want it to behave like the cold car all the time *weep*

Also front cats are removed and only high flow main cat. So there should be no blockade in the exhaust.

Do you have the GM shop manual for your '88?

You should buy one. You're missing out on a ton of valuable info. Worth every penny.

See "lack of power, sluggish, or spongy" at part throttle below.

Also, take care of that intermittent code 32.

Click on the texts below.

thanks, valuable information It is starting to look like EGR related issue. Usually the EGR code will pop up when car has warmed up and usually when I am steadily cruising on highway for long time.

Other possible issue could be the fuil filter. I have driven around 22 000 miles after last fuel filter change.
