Firmer Shifts?
Is it possible to tune the pcm to shift the tranny firmer/faster in these older cars like can be done in the newer vehicles?
...or is a shift kit the only resort?

Shift kit is required for an 87 to shift firmer, the only thing you can change in the tune for 87 is torque converter lockup.
Reprogramming the shift points wont make for firmer shifts on a 94 either, raising the pressures or lowering the shift timing will though.

Shift kit is required for an 87 to shift firmer, the only thing you can change in the tune for 87 is torque converter lockup.
Reprogramming the shift points wont make for firmer shifts on a 94 either, raising the pressures or lowering the shift timing will though.
