Default Patriot Performance heads

Anyone know anything about these?

Seems decent for the money.

Just noticed, they are the perimiter bolt valve covers. Will they fit?

Patriot makes some good heads. I used perimiter bolt valve covers type heads when I built my motor for my 91'. I just changed valve covers. Got some polished billet aluminum ones. But I'm not sure if they wil clear a TPI set up. They would clear a minirem setup though. I did have to clearence the AC bracket a little...

I have considered , then I bought Brodix.
Why I have not purchased? I don't know. Probably because No One in this C4 forum is using it.
About the valve cover: My Brodix are for perimeter and centerbolt.
In reality the centerbolt pattern is useless, due to the external ridge of the heads.
I used TALL perimeter valve covers on my 90 with the larger SuperRam and I hae plenty of room.

I called the factory. Here's the story.

http://www.patriot-performance.com/w...03567&DID=1225

$795 plus $40 for a spring upgrade for brand new heads.

The Super Ram only flows 240 CFM according to Lingenfelter. I called them and verified that spec.

These heads will flow 260 CFM with a 64 CC chamber. They have a 62CC chamber also, I will go with the smaller one if I can get it.

I believe the standard heads are 58CC or 60CC. Can anyone verify for me that number.

I'm looking at the specs on this head and asking WTF for $800 for new heads, seems like a bargin.

The factory said that they're cheaper than AFT and others because 1. they do sinificanlty more volume and 2. they are not a stand alone company but a subsidiary of a larger company 3. they buy more volume. They buy 20,000 valves a month and more.

That's what I'm getting. Seems like a deal.

Comments welcome.

There is an article in the Aug issue of car craft. Good heads for the money. I bought a pair and they are drilled for both valve covers. I got an odd combustion chamber size and larger springs. $100 more.

113 heads have a 58 cc combustion chamber. 60 cc should be fine on your car.

Either way, whoever picked the brand name was a bit irony-impaired.

I just called Patriot and asked them about LT1 support. The associate I talked to, said that they were planning on having some offerings for the LT1 around the end of the year by November.
