Shifter *****, so many choices..
Couple of questions, Are the threads the same on shifter for all the zf gearboxes? There is a Hurst ball shaped for 6 sp camaro I was looking at, but don't know if it will fit. Does anyone make anything that resembles the pistol grip of old HIPO MOPAR? I hate the stock ****.
Thanks
I don't have answers to all your questions, but I do know that besides the threads there is a wedge shaped steel block that is used to set the orientation so the **** doesn't rotate. At least that is how it is on my 96. In aftermarket Corvette catalogs the Corvette specific shifter ***** are much more expensive than what I expect. Maybe this wedge device is (at least in part) the reason. Please let me know if you find another shifter **** can be easily adopted. FrankLT4CE
I have a Flameball shift ****, but if I could find a MOPAR pistolgrip, I would use that. I might get a Hurst "T" handle with the button on the side for my line lock.
C5 6-speed ***** will fit all C4 6-speed shifters. The thread size is 9/16"-18. Camaro's use a metric M16 thread that is slightly larger than 9/16". Hurst is working on introducing a C5 classic style ****, but reverse will be the wrong way. Hurst is also considering a new ergonomic T-handle for shifters like ours, in a 9/16" thread. I have modified some classic T-handles and Camaro round ***** to fit C4's , if you are interested I could do one for you. Email me if interested.
