whats the best way to port the oil return holes on these heads or can i mod the spring pockets? i had to mod the block also because the front hole on the head was covered by the block on the driver side.
I know what you are saying about the block,I always have to cut the casting in the block. The AFR heads are gouged out with a tool that opens up the front and rear head so you shouldn't have a drain back problem.

Are you talking about the actual deck of the block on the driver side? That seems to be where the front drain hole of my AFR 210's ends up at.
As far as the drain holes go, I just took a round file and removed the sharp edge of the drain hole and blended it a little. The front driver side drain hole has me at a loss. I don't know if the stock head is like that or not?
The oil galley in the block. The burs in the block .The AFR heads already have C&C porting where the drain back is ,at least my 220 AFR's are cut for drain back.
