Can a torque converter from a Turbo 350 be used with a 700R4 transmission?

The Turbo 350 converter is from an 84 Monte Carlo with TBI.

 

i think that it will fit but you won't have a lock up function.

 

NO; T350 interchanges with T400.
T700 does not.
If you compare the two, the tube that fits into the trans is smaller on the T700 convertor.
Also T700 convertors come in two different splines
(27 / 30 ) depending whether from early or late trans.

Looks like I'm going to have to figure out how to get my converter off my old engine.

The engine is siezed and I'm having a hard time getting to the converter bolts.

 

Do you have enough room to disconnect the Tranny and slide it back ?

You can then pull the motor with the convertor still attached.

Or, I have pulled the motor and Tranny togeather. Just remove the hood.
