Automatic Shifter
Is anyone aware of a shifter for an 84 vette with a 700r4 that is a direct fit? Has anyone modified an aftermarket shifter to work? I would love to see some pics>

I just bought a 88 700r shifter..I'm going to cut it down and put a early camaro round automatic ball on it..I figure I can cut it down at least 3 1/2 "...If you measure the extention of the push button leaver and make it the same height sticking out after you cut it down,grind a little grove near the top for the e-clip and it s/b O.K...Just make a drawing b-4 you cut..I saw it done this way with a write up and can't remember where(senior moment)

I HAVE TO SAY I'M STILL WORKING ON IT HAS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PICTURE. TOMORROW ORDERING A NEW SHIFTER BOOT TO COVER UP SHAFT.
