Im doing a purple Neon install for a friend who has a very nice 94 Purple on Black leather LT1/6sp with chromed sawblades. The car is in show type condition.
I want to do a good job for him and would be highly indebted to anyone that has ever done this and has any pics of the install.
It is a 4 tube kit: front, both sides, and rear tubes.
yeah...Its not my ride and my friend is very into showy type stuff and puts his vette into car shows-vette shows in the Minneapolis area. If done right it might be OK looking.
Straight forward. Splice the wires of each bulb together to connect the circuit. Hang the bulbs with the included ties bolt down teh transformer. Make a metal shield for the transformer wire in the switch and your done. Now thats not so hard is it?
My only thought would be figuring out where to mount them so you don't see the light directly (since proper neons should be indirect glow down on the ground)...
every time I look up under my car, its relatively flat with no lips or crevices to cram a big tube light into.
Perhaps he might be interested in the new LED lighting systems? I believe those are super small, plus would stand up to the harsh ride of the Vette. I would think neon tubes wouldn't last too long with the stuff suspension, bumps etc... im sure I am wrong on this, but just a thought...
as far as that goes... wiring is easy... It's the mounting that I would find to be the problem.

not much of a problem, really. Ever ride in a slammed Civic? They take suspension travel to new lows.
as an aside, I have strobes on my 92. Most handy when leading a caravan or in a parade.

Thanks for the response. Is there a manufacturer of this that you were thinking of?
The Kit itself was nice, well built I suppose, but just not to be. After showing my friend how the wiring would need to snake through underneath the car, which is pretty tight for free space, he decided to forget about it.
Last I heard, he said he gave away the kit to some teenies in his girlfriends neighborhood.
A strobe kit, something subtle though. I simply want to put a few strobes in the back up light, including the running lights. I just want these to show off a tad after grinding the gears. Good luck though, maybe I'll do the strobe set up next spring, I'm sure a fellow forum member has done this.
