ECM part numbers

ECM part numbers
Hi all,
I have a question on ECM part numbers if anyone can help?
Its a 1992 LT1 and the ECM is on top of the battery.
There is a 4 character code in the top right corner, a 'Serv No' number, and 2 other numbers underneath that.
Can someone tell me what each number means please?
I have found a used ECM for my car but the only number the same as my current ECM is the 'Serv no'.
What numbers need to match for the ECM to be compatible?
