Default Harmonic Balancer Part Number

Long story short, I put a LT1 block into my vette from a F-Body. It is a two bolt main. My serpentine belt does not line up correctly. In doing my homework I have found that the balancer hubs are the same part in both cars, GM part #12553250, but the balancers are different. I am guessing that the reason that things are not lining up is because I may have a Balancer off of a F-Body aka Camaro which is GM Part #12551138. The Y-Body aka Corvette part number is GM #10128489.

Two basic questions:

I've got my old unit sitting in the garage- I'll check for you when I get home from work tonight. I can post a picture with dimensions as well if someone doesn't beat me to it.

I really, really appreciate it!!! This does not seem to be a much of a problem with anyone but me right now!? I am guessing as these cars age a few more people will resort to using two bolts main blocks and few components will get swapped around like on my poor car. Seeking out this info may help someone else in the future. Looking forward to the measurements and the pictures!

I didn't remove the balancer on my 96 LT1 when I pulled it to install the new 388 engine. I just bought a new ATI SuperDampr, so I don't know if there's a part number stamped on the stock one.

Someone can tell you for sure, but I believe it't length of the hub that differs between the 'F' and 'Y' body setups.

Thanks for trying to help, but if the local Chevrolet dealer is correct the part numbers above tells a different story. Wish I could find someone that has both and could take a photo for me. That probably will not happen but I will keep my fingers crossed.

OK, I found the listings for the two Harmonic Balancers on the Rock Auto Web site. In comparing things I have learned that I have the correct balancer... but it is still too far forward.

I thought it was the hub, so that's for straightening me out on that.

If yours is the correct one for a Vette, and it still extends too far forward, somthing's still amiss.

What measurement are you getting from the block to the first belt groove? I measured my stock LT1 setup a week or so ago and posted what I found.

Anyone know if the balancer hub from an Impala SS LT1 is the same? I have the correct balancer but it came without a hub. Second problem, if the hub is the same, anyone know any tricks for seperating an LT1 balancer hub from the balancer itself? i removed the three bolts and its not budgin' thanks
