Default D44 w/ 3.07 gears?

I'm thinking about getting this for my 88 but I really don't know how much they would sell for. I obviously know that the lower the gear ratio, the less expensive they would be. So really, what is a ball park figure for a D44 full assembly with the tall 3.07 gears?

3.07 is still a desirable ratio, especially for the auto trans L98 crowd.

There are probably more 3.45 ratio D44s in circulation since there are likey more 6 speed cars than 4+3s that were originally equipped with 3.07s.

Of course if its been rebuilt with a new gear set its gonna be more expensive.

Not gonna be cheap in any event.

I'd say a used one ought to be be worth around $1000. My feeble attempt to lower the market price of D44s.

For a good D44 you are going to be looking at a price closer to 2k - and that is just the center piece with a C-beam.

They are becoming rarer and rarer with the most power these type cars are making - they will remain an indangered species.

Just search the parts f/s forum here and ebay for recent D44 sales.

Here's the most recent three I found with a quick search:

D44/4.09, $800 shipped: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1804900

An entire C4/D44 suspension front and rear goes for ~$2k, so those must be some might fine pumpkins you're pricing.

If you just need the Dana 44 3.07 gears themselves, PM CF member Jakers. He's got a set I pretty much gave away a while back and I don't think he's ever used them...
