I have a 95 vette coup with the base suspension package, what type of shocks will work, I see with z-51 without z-51 , sport valving, heavy duty valving ???, I am looking at blistens, any suggestions

the z51 shocks are stiff... the sport and HD valving are stiff....

I use Koni adjustables, very nice. Also, KYB are great for a budget shock.

Koni adjustables are stiffer than HD Bilsteins. HD Bilstiens are about 10% stiffer than stock GM Bilsteins. Sport Bilstenns are stiff like the Koni which only come only in sport. HD Bilsteins are plenty stiff for the street and ride better than the sports.

I would stay with the base Bilsteins. They will provide good control and a decent ride.

I just installed Bilstein Sports (Z-51) on my base supension coupe and love the feel now. When searching the archives prior to buying them, it seemed that a lot of people were happy with the results. I have no idea how they would compare to new HD (Base) shocks, but they are nice and firm and there is a lot of feedback from the road, which I prefer.

It is by no means smooth, but the only bumps that bother me now are the ones which were already pretty jarring when riding on my worn out base shocks.

I put KYB shocks-smooth ride-they feel slightly softer than bilstein.

The yellow ones are stiff yes, what about the red KONIs though?
