Hard starting problem fixed (I hope)

Hopefully my hard starting problem is solved, so I am posting in case it helps someone else.
Problem started with intermittent starting a few months back now and again the car would just start and then stumble and die, it smelt flooded but if you floored the gas and cranked is all you got was occasional popping. No codes were ever set. Things got worse so as I was very busy at work I put it into a dealer.
The dealer sort of diagnosed a probable faulty coolant sensor but had trouble locating where it was ???? Luckily some timely intervention by Ray Quayle got me some good drawings and example read out for a good system.
The dealer swapped the sensor, and the Lambda for good measure and it all seems good now.
As usual I should have not gone to a dealer and worked on it with the help of the grate guys on the forum like Ray.
