If it is stock - do not run it past 5800 RPM. When it sputters at 6K the fuel rails are shutting off. Believe me - I have learned the hard way.

What would be the problem? After all the engine shuts down to protect itself.
And what happens when using a Hypertech programmer, it will raise the RPM's it can reach.

Just because you can raise the rev limit RPM's, does not mean it's safe to do so or that your engine will hold together. Without modifications to the valve train and/or bottom end, you probably shouldn't be exceeding the factory redline.
