Fuel Pump Strainer Orientation?
I didn't pay enough attention to how the screen on the fuel pump in my '94 was oriented when I removed the pump and now that I am ready to put it all back together I'm not sure how it should be positioned. I'm guessing the screen should be oriented vertically - as it looks when placing the unit into the tank - with the short side down. Hoping someone can tell me for sure.

On my "84" , 2 weeks ago I installed a "85" pump, I didn't pay attention either. So I put the long end forward. I just read on the Crossfire Forum, someone put the long end to the left ( 84's starve on right handers ). One of these days I'll open it up again and put a little hose in between and move the sock 1" to 1 1/2" lower

I set the sock pointing toward the front, it works well that way. I suppose you could try and turn the yellow plastic tray it sits in. There was a thread like this awhile ago, and there are socks that attach in the middle to.
