'93 Speedometer backlight dimmed.
The speedometer panel on my '93 coupe suddenly seems about half as bright as it used to be.
Also, I've completely lost the backlight on my radio clock/frequency display.
Is the LCD lit separately by replaceable bulbs? Has anyone has this problem and repaired it?

Shine a bright light at the ambient light sensor opening (on the drivers information center) and see if anything changes. If nothing changes you'll need to follow the ambient light sensor functional check list (long). Page 8A-114-9 in the 92 manual, should be the same on the 93. :crazy:

Running to find a flashlight now...hmm...it should be dimmer in darkness, brighter in daylight, what a concept...:D
Wait a minute, tho...it's at *night* that it seems to be dimmer than it should be. Have to crank the slider all the way up, when halfway used to be too bright.

Okay, no help. It responds as it should lights on / lights off / dark / light.
My service manual does show two lightbulbs for backlight. I wager I've lost one of the buggers.
