Using the old style breather on the passenger side didnt bother the engine? I used a PCV style chrome one and took out the valve inside instead of buying the breather.

The motor seems to run stronger I was not happy with the blow by that was going into my intake I eliminated the pcv also and just used a breather instead, no negatives from that either.
Thats my 79 Trans Am in Progress Im building a 400 to throw in it.
thats what i did to mine! schweeeeeeet! had to drill out the crossmember and bolt in new motor mounts, putting a level on the carb did the trick to get it straight (after bolting it to the tranny)
you will love that car when you get done, I loved my '79/big block convert. unless you are going small block 400? thats an easier install.
