Default Self aligning rockers

I'll be using self aligning rockers on my build.

To install these I assume all I have to do is take off the guide plates.

Do I have that right?

How exactly do self aligning rockers, self align?

Why can't I use pushrod guides with self aligning rockers?

Self-aligning rockers have tabs that align on the valve stems. Running SA rockers and guide plates will cause a binding situation.

Anyone see an advantage to SA over regular rockers and guide plates. From what I understand the guide plates are more effective over 6000 RPMs, which I never plan to see.

I have a set of SA, I'd like to do it right once. Is this a problem?

The SA are a $$ saving exercise from the factory; not a performance upgrade.
Either will work fine for your app.
If you heads have the factory "guide" plates which are only there to help assembly at the factory (not proper harderned ones for non SA ) then leave them in.

Right. The factory guide plates are not really guide plates but rather assembily aids. Leave them in and use SA rockers. If you don't us SA rockers then remove the factory plates and put in hardened plates.

If you don't need them they are extra weight!
