I have a '95 LT1, and the service engine soon light comes in after driving for a couple of minutes. I own the service manual, but I can't for the life of me figure out what to do to narrow down the problem! Does anyone know where in the service manual to look, or a couple of good places to start looking for the problem? Thanx.
im not entirely sure how you pull the codes on an LT1, you can get a scanner or take it to a dealer and get them to pull the codes, that will tell you what is wrong with the car. If you could be more descriptive of what was happening to the car and if it had ever done it before we could maybe figure it out.
Ok, thanks guys. I looked at that section and thought it only had to do with faults in the Driver Information Center. I got a ECM fault H44, so I guess that would be a "history" oxygen sensor problem.
By the way, does anyone know how easy it is to fix a 'vette with a sledgehammer? :smash: I've owned it for about three months and the only things to break are the power sterring, transmission, seat belt, power antenna, (apparently) oxygen sensor, and (just for kicks) a headlight, a taillight, and two running lights have gone out. Maybe I need to find and disable the automatic 50,000 mile self destruct. *grumble* ;)
When my '93 coupe got that message under those conditions, it proved to be an O2 sensor that had fried. When the car would get warm, the computer realized that the O2 reading was way off, and turned on the SES light.
