Default Brodix Heads.

Barring any kind of major problem. I believe I am choosing Brodix heads. They have been around a long time, they know what they are doing, and at $1200 for a set of Race Rites, they seem like a decent deal.

What do you think?

The assembled head. They make their own SS valves, five angle valve job, with comp cams dual springs. $1250 ish to my front door.

I used the 200 cc versions on Beppe's (conv90), 396 motor. They seem to be a nice, inexpensive head. I believe Beppe is pleased as well.

I have the Race-Rite 180cc heads on my motor. I was very unhappy with the combustion chambers. When they cut in the valves, it left a sharp 90 degree ridge that shrouded the valves. It looked like the valves where sunk 1/8 - 1/16 an inch in the chambers. Also the ridge came to a sharp point in between the valves. Sharp points in the chamber = detonation. At low lift they would have flowed sh!tty. $300 later a local guy cleaned up the chambers and now they look great. I have a bunch of pics of the heads after the work, but I'm not sure if I took any before.

I'm running their Track 1 heads on my destroked 400ci motor making 440RWHP.. Mine were ported by IndyHeads though. But the quality was good, never any problems. Never heard but good things from them...

You did notice the chamber size...your compression (power) is going to drop, unless they'll mill down to 58cc, or you buy new pistons.

I confirm.
Just an advice. I see you have a 90. ...so centerbolt valve covers.
They are drilled for both centerbolts and perimeters.
If you have 1.6 RR there is NO WAY to make it fit the stock valve covers. no matter the how much material you remove.
Even if you have stock rockers, do yourself a favor. Buy a set of pre-86 perimeter valvecover .
The permeter edge of the heads is not made good for centerbolts.
