Default Clutch finally done!!!!!

After nearly two years of messing around, I finally got my new Delco DualMass, new Delco clutch assembly, new slave cylinder, new master cylinder, and Hurst shifter and **** installed in my 94 LT1.

That's it. Just wanted to share the news.

Time to start looking for some long tubes and a Hot Cam kit....maybe even a full LT4 kit.

Heading to Deal's Gap this weekend for some open top Smokey Mountain cruising.

Default I'm close to same needed.

How do you like the Hurst shifter - was it a difficult install - and where did you get the dual-mass flywheel and was it difficult to balance the same as your old one. I'm about to have to do the same work. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

I love the shifter other than not being totally used to it. The throw is super sweet and the **** is much lower giving you the impression of more room in the cabin...I don't knock my coke over anymore using reverse. The only real complaint is that since the reverse pullring is gone there have been a couple of times I have aimed for 5th and headed out over reverse....mostly because I am not used to it. One of my guys and I had it installed in about an hour. I own oil change shops and we have a pit to work from the bottom to make it easier. Watch the rubber shifter boot.....cannot get those from dealer and mine was already torn.

I bought an LT4 flywheel off a crate motor from a guy on Ebay for around $350 delivered. The clutch is an AC Delco set up from the local supplier along with the cylinders. I had a friend of mine who owns his own repair shop do the labor (about 5.5 to 6 hours total). I helped him out when I could. The stock flywheel had no weights in it so I did not have to put any in. I have 10 unused weights if you want to buy them.

REMEMBER THIS....Do not forget to install the weights in the flywheel. Do not forget to line up marks on flywheel and pressure plate per Delco instructions. Try not to disconnect lines on your clutch cylinders....leave them hooked up and move them. THE TRANS IS HEAVY...so get a lift or some friends. Good time to check rear main seal. I did mine while we were in there.
