Default Coolant additves?

Anyone have any input on coolant additives, I have a 1996 w/LT4 running a little hot, 115 degrees in the summer out here in AZ. Anyone tried 40 Below Coolant Additive or Water Wetter? Engine gets around 230-240 (according to dash gauge) in traffic, drops to 190-200 once I get out on freeway. New radiator, hoses, t-stat, fans kicking on, but with these temps looking for an edge (everyday driver). Can only notice slight decrease in performance at those high temps. Any and all help and suggestions appreciated.

i have run the water wetter berfore, and it did ok. i run it in all my other cars and it helps a little.

unfortunely i have been told that the c4s run hot. so i am not sure what get the cengine down in temp. i know that the fan is suppose to kick on , but not sure at what temp. maybe programming the computermight help? i was wanting to know the samething as you- what can you do to get the temps down.....i am building a motor right now fro my 86 and i am not wanting the temps to get the best of the motor........ installed a 160 themastat, water wetter and anti freeze mixture..... anything else.....

is there anything else that i can do to get the temps down...

..water wetter seems to work ok but i think primarily designed for just watter or the majority of water in the radiator....

I am using a product exactly like 40 below, only its a diffrent name and its sold at pepboys, in the same gallon tin can like 40 below is.

any how, you have to run that whole gallon of water additive with just plain ol water from the hose. wich means you have to completely drain out your current fluids and dispose of them.
- take off the thermostat and hoses to the engine block and flush out the engine block it self as well. ( its a good idea to do this every year or so anyways to get the crud out. ) I pulled the t stat and re installed the neck with out the t stat and ran the garden hose in there for about 10 min or so. alot of cruddy looking muck came out. was glad to get rid of it. and I fully flushed the radiator a fiew times before filling up with with new fluids.

the end result was about 15% cooler running temps after the coolant system treatment.

what realley helped my car run cooler ( and give the ac unit a kick! ) was making a home made big mouth air dam. it forces more air to flow past the condencer and radiator. more air means cooler temps.
man my ac is cold now!!!
hope you get it cooled off. 240 seems real hot to me.

Reprogram the fans to come on sooner otherwise the 160 stat wont do anything when its fully open

The air dam only helps when your moving...doesn't do anything in standing traffic..

Clean between the radiator
Remember to burp the sys, you might have air pockets
you can install a manual fan on/off switch (search function should get you the info)
