Default HELP! Steering column angle adjustment

Hi all,

I just finished repairing a broken indicator stalk on my 1992 LT1 which was a total SOB of a job!

Anyway, I was very happy to have the column all back together up to the air bag clock spring, but then I noticed that the steering wheel angle appears to be adjusted all the way up to the top.

I did not intentionally adjust anything when dismantling and rebuilding the column.

Can anyone tell me what has gone wrong and what I need to do to fix it? I really didn't want to have to tear the column apart again

Here's a (poor) photo of the problem...

Many thanks,
Bryn.

Did you try pulling the tilt lever and rotating it back down?

To be honest I had spent so long repairing the indicator mechanism that I just gave up and went home when I realised the column wasn't quite right

Where is the tilt lever located?

Thanks again,
Bryn.

The black lever below the turn signal/cruise stalk you replaced. It pulls up to adjust the angle of the upper column.
