I know a few people who have had centerforce issues, mostly on trucks.

My centerforce is working great! Either yours was installed wrong or something else is causing the clutch to engage partially causing it to slip. (Or you really don't know how to drive a stick :jester :jester ) :D

the factory clutch in my old prelude wore out. but as bad as that was, it doesn't come close to yours...

My preludes clutch lost a couple of the center springs... messy, yes, but still functional!

How many times did you hold the brakes to the floor while at the same time matting the throttle in first gear attempting to light off the rear tires for some insane burnout??

never.

I bought the car with the clutch. The clutch was never abused. It failed on an easy shift, not a dump.

If the CF cluth is not broken in properly for the 1st 500 miles it will go to hell quickly afterwards. It appears that the fellow who put it on did not break it in as recomeded. Mine has behaved it self just fine afer breakin.

the guy did agree with that opinion until he saw the clutch. And you are right, he didn't do proper break in proceedures. Instead of 500 miles, he did it for 2500 miles. This clutch was not abused. Untill this clutch the guy saw no problems with CF.

I wish I had pictures of mine. Exactly the same thing happened about 450 miles after installing it. It blew on a shift at about 5500 RPM. One of the huge pieces of friction material (like in your picture) stuck between the rest of the disk and the flywheel, locking up the whole drive train. Result: broken right rear stub axle, wheel came loose and tore up the caliper and bracket, brake pads, rotor, etc. CenterForce (through Exotic Muscle who did the work and repairs - fantastic job Merle & Trevor) covered everything. CF inspected the debris and told Merle @ EM that it was a defective disk. They made it good! Absolutely no problems since and I've made 80+ autocross runs since. There was at least one other disk sold at the same time that had the same result (CA I think). Contact CF and I'm sure they will make it right for you.
