Just happened to have my circa 2002 parts cd installed, so here it is:
Sensor, eng cool temp (und plenum) (used for clusters w/oil gage & LGT comb)(2 way M) -- ac/delco 213-310, GM # 12146312.
Although the definition seems odd, based on picture it is it...
It should be the sensor which drives the digital dash temp and the ECM.

thanks for the part number, I'll check it out today. what happened was when I got the old water pump out of the car, it sliped out of my hand and broke the plastic peice that holds the connector on. thanks
