Default help out the new guy with mods

i just baught my 96 ce with the lt4 and i was wanting to do some minor modifications to it. i have found a set of pacesetter shorty headers, a 52 mm throttle body, of course the cags bypass and a b&m short shifter, im also putting in a k&n air filter.

my questions is i was looking for an x pipe modification and i cant seem to find one anywhere does any one know where i might find one?

are there any other minor mods for the lt4 that would be good without getting into the engine itsself?

also any info or input on minor mods for the lt4 would be very appreciated.

thanks

Welcome to the forum. Shortie headers are pretty much little to no bang for the buck. I wasn't aware the '96 had an X pipe. You may have to do your own modifications to your X pipe. You might want to do some searches on specific questions or just sit back and listen to what is going on.

RACE ON!!!

NO to the pacesetter shorty and 52 mm throttle body. They will not give you any hp gain. LTs with an X pipe(Jegs or Summit) and PCMforless tune (this will also take care of the CAGS) the B&M and K&N are good.
Just look here for the dyno test of LT4s then pick a number and copy.

Shortie Headers: little to no gain but adds a little to your rumble

52MM TB: HOnestly, the stock TB can outflow your stock engine.

B&M and !CAGS: these make sense.

Why dont you ditch the TB idea and use that money combined with the money you would use for Shorty headers and get a nice set of LT headers. 15-25HP pretty easily. Best bang for the buck mod IMO

A set of 4.10 gears would be a great place to start. That will wake it up quite a bit. Welcome to the forum

Thank you very much for your input that helps alot and saves me alot of time and money. i do still have a few questions on my mind.

i also had considered a gm hot cam which i know is a decent mod for the lt4 engine but what all should be modified before i go straight for the cam?

as far as a good set of headers i had seen a couple of headers one by hooker and i cont recall the brand of the other. what would yall prefer as expierianced vette gurus

are there any other minor mods for this car that would be good?
im using general proformance knowledge from other cars that i have had but honestly when it comes to vettes specificaly i am at a loss

thanks again for all the help

GOOD LT headers and gears. Shorties won't do anything neither will the TB.
