Default Radiator Cleaning

Currently I have my radiator out of the car while I have been fixing my oil leak and installing headers, etc. I took it out as the whole assembly, A/C and all. How do I remove the shroud to clean between the two? I haven't really looked at it close, it could be obvious, but any advice would be appreciated.

Hmmm.. I am gonna say that it would be obvious hom to seperate the three components.I did not think tthat you had to remove all thse parts to clean between the radiators to clean all the debris from between them but since your working on a oil leak I am guessing that it is the front seal? and if so .I want to remind you to inspect the opti spark .goodluck

The oil leak was all around the timing cover, through the old water pump drive, etc. For now my opti is fine, but I'm sure it's about ready to go. I would have replaced it while I was into it, I just can't afford it.

As for the oil leak I replaced everything on the timing cover and the oil pan gasket. BTW my oil pan gasket is awesome, instead of the cheap type this one has a metal core with grommets for the screws so you can't over tighten them. It looks so nice, hasn't squirted out anywhere and it's TIGHT. That sucker isn't going to leak.

Sounds good. Who makes it? Where'd you get it? How much?

...Questions... :D

I replaced the radiator on my '88 two weeks ago and if yours is similar to mine it is very easy to remove the radiator. Just remove the air cleaner assembly, the hoses and transmission cooling lines, and the screws that hold the top shroud on then the radiator just lifts out. I don't remember exactly how many screws I removed, but there were two sizes. There were about 8 smaller screws (7mm I think) and about 10 larger screws 12mm? The plastic shroud came off fairly easy and the radiator is just resting on some rubber mounts. You'll be amazed at the amount of crap stuck in there!
