hello there,
i have just fitted my new intake on my l98 vette and are not ready to run fuel thru the fuel rails as of yet BUT i need to be able to turn ignition on and off to install my new day light running light kit .
and was wandering can i screw end cap plugs on end of main and return fuel lines to stop fuel being pumped every where ?
and apart from plugging fuel lines is there another way of stoping the fuel being pumped thru may be ?, removing fuel pump fuse where ever that is located ?
will this ruin the pump in any way that the pump is trying to pump fuel thru fuel lines but cant get thru as lines are blocked off due the the plugs fitted temporily ?
any ideas and help would great.
thanks in advance.
hello jeffvette,
thanks for the info, but where is the fuel pump fuse located please on a 1991 vette please ?
also would the fuel line plugs i have work also ?
thank you
Just pull the fuel pump fuse. That's all you need to do.
btw, never ''dead-head'' ANY pump...power being input by the pump motor converts to heat inside the pump...will kill your fuel pump in a very few minutes...even centrifugal water pumps have exploded with loss of life when run dead-headed and trapped water was heated to steam flash point.
