You will experience hard cold starting, you can get a chip done from PCMforless and they will program it accordingly for the CSI delete, EGR delete and other changes like the fan temp etc.

best for longevity of your engine to ''crank for oil pressure'' prior to light-off (s.o.p. for racing engines)... some truth to the tv adds that say most of wear occurs at start-up ( but due to oil drain-down from internals, not lack of their additive),... however, extended cranking is not desirable, esp if ''flat tappets'' are used (roller tappets are more forgiving), thus in ambient temps under abt +40*F the CSI is helpful.
ran my L98 many years with CSI unplugged, current lt1 intake conversion has no provision for ''ninth injector...no prob.

Best way, get all the good mods in one go or you can get a chip from a '89 ( no cold start injector ) that has the fuel enrichment at start up to compensate for no cold start injector
nothing done to the ecm...tape the CSI connector to reduce corrosion in case your every decide to resto...note that if used, the CSI only operates for eight seconds before it ''times out'' and shuts off anyway.
