Ok I'm an idiot who is trying to replace a starter using a JACK... Life really sux right now, but anyways.. Where is the starter?? I can't get totally under the car with the jack. I may run and buy some jackstands in a few.
Also do you have to remove anything to get to the starter??
Just removed mine during a clutch change. Easiest starter I have ever removed. Only two bolts and they go straight up into the bottom of the block. Just remove them and the starter slides straight back. Make sure you remove the positive cable from the battery because the big wire on the starter is always HOT.
Mine wasn't all that easy to get out, took about an hour total. The shorter of the two bolts is tucked in under the edge of the cat heat sheild, kind of had to tap the socket past the heatsheild, then all was good to go. I slid it forward a few inches then dropped out. Trans lines had to be pushed over to the side ,but not by much.
