For the weather stripping, check the various forum sponsors on the left side of the page.

I'm not positive on the LT1 engine, but I would bet it is 4 quarts in the pan and one for the filter. Start there, then check the dipstick. If you plan to work on the car, you will need a FSM. You can get an owner's manual from that link, also.

RACE ON!!!

Congrats on getting the Vette. Wilcox is best supplier for weatherstripping. 5 qts Mobile One 5W30 for each oil change. Do NOT wash the engine unless you want to kill the optispark. Welcome to our passion.

welcome!

lesson 1: don't get crappy aftermarket weatherstripping! Wilcox I've heard is OK, but if you want guaranteed quality go OEM. You'll pay for it though.

Don't get OEM, as it is an entire order of magnitude more expensive than aftermarket weatherstrip. People talk the OEM up here all the time but you don't hear about as many people who have actually paid the ~$2000 for all the OEM strips (that's what it actually costs at a dealer). Why do that when you can get aftermarket for a tenth that price that usually works fine.

Another thing, you always hear people griping about how they bought X brand of aftermarket weatherstrip and the fit sucked, and then everyone who reads such post will then constantly regurgitate that advice on the forum to not buy that brand... but I will put money down that 90% of the time, the original person was just not installing it right. Weatherstrip installs are not as straightforward as they sound. There are a lot of mistakes that can be made and you don't always know it when you've made one, other than the fact that your doors don't close. So I would take all the warnings about different brands with a grain of salt. Just go with what's cheapest; I did. I spent $200 on stripping from Noah Performance, I installed it wrong, it didn't fit, I looked it over and installed it right and it fit fine. For $1800 less dollars I'd say that was a pretty good decision. All you need is for it to not look 10 years old and shredded to bits, and it's hard for a weatherstrip company to mess that up, and it's usually not too hard for them to get the OEM shape right as well.

Also, be sure to use a high quality oil filter (e.g. mobil 1's - M1-201 --available at Autozone).

I looked through the manual and didn't find anything about how many quarts it takes.

Is the traction control always on ? Or do you gotta click the button ?

Car runs excellent and my first corvette. I like this body style a lot more than the newer generations.
