Help, plug wire is arching!!!!
I have a 94 auto coupe, and it started missing a cylinder tonight, so I popped the hood and the top plug wire on the driver's side was arching. How bad is it to drive this way, how hard are the wires to replace, and what are the best one's to get. Any help would be wonderful. Thanks in advance. :cry :cry

First off, make sure it is firmly attached. If it is and still does this..time for new wires. You might as well replace them all if they are original. It's not real bad for the engine, but will foul that plug a bit as less speak energy is reaching the cylinder. You will probably wanna change plugs too as if it is sparking it has been going bad for a while and the plug might be very fouled.

You discovered the OLD trick to finding out if the wires are bad....
open the hood @ night & look far the light show. :yesnod: :cool:
You see any sparks...
Replace all the plug wires... worth the effort.

If it wasn't just a loose connection, replace the plugs and wires. I've got the MSD 8.5mm's and NGK TR55 plugs. It's not the easiest do it yourself job, but you DON'T WANT TO SEE WHAT THE DEALER GETS TO DO IT! :eek:
