I just replaced my battery last night(what fun) with an optima 6pack. What im trying to figure out, is how to fix what i think caused the death of the battery. A little background info: my pke goes nuts every once in a while(locks will cycle while im sitting in car without key in ignition), alarm went off 2x the other day for no reason, the stereo does not shut off once i open the door anymore; i have been shutting it off manually but the display stays lit up? The only electrical type work that i have done recently is to install an antenna bypass switch. What im thinking is that my door ajar switch has gone bad, but would that kill a battery? Thanks in advance.

Not sure on your '95, but it should be like the '96.

If I leave the door open (say at a car show). After about 10 minutes the lights will go out. This is to prevent running down the battery I assume, but I don' know what other circuit might still be active.

The CCM is supposed to go into "sleep" mode where the quiescent current is very low and would not put much of a drain on the battery.
If the CCM does not go into sleep mode, it draws more current.

With a bad door switch, it might be possible that the CCM never goes to sleep.
The shop manual will tell you the things that will wake up the CCM.

P.S.
The CCM controls the Delayed Accessory Bus (DAB) that shuts off the interior lights after so many minutes.
But, that has nothing to do with the sleep mode the CCM goes into.
When the CCM goes into sleep mode to conserve current, it shuts down most functions, but it keeps just enough current flow (quiescent current) to be the sentinel for the security system.
If the CCM sees a "wake up" signal, then it starts to draw more current to energize the other functions.
