I Have A 94 With A Flowmaster Cat Back System . Im Thinking About Getting Rid Of The Resonator With Straight Pipes. Will That Give Me Better Sound? Any Performance Down Falls?
I'm running headers with straight pipes, but I put my Magnaflows (ones for the '86-'91 catback) on the end and the only way I can describe the sound is demonic. There are plenty of people who have ran muffler eliminators and it sounds very aggressive. I think you would like it a lot.
Edit: Check out Snake Charmer 383's muffler eliminators....

I have eliminators and no resonator. Stock headers and its nasty. I love the sound. I would LOVE to have headers on. But I would say MAYBE that the muff elims. took some power away. Maybe 2-5 hp?
I would replace it with an X pipe this is the one I used
but then i replaced the whole system with long tube headers and 3 inch pipes. I had the X pipe welded in but if you want it I can cut it out and send it to you just pay shipping. it was only about $50 new. look at this thread it was last night before I took it to the muffler shop to put my magnaflows back on. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1840162
