Hey everyone! ok i need some help. im a college student ant SUNY Fredonia in NY, last weekend i was on my home to Rochester when i got a flat on the thruway, about 20 minutes from my college, but an hour and fifteen min from home. well stupid me , i dont have AAA, so when i got the car towed to the nearest garage it cost me 95 bucks, plus i had slashed up the tire, 315 35 17 on 11 inch five spoke zr1 rims. so i calle dtire rack and ordered 2 new gsc's(over 500 bucks) they got to the shop today but when they went to put them on, air started leaking out, it turns out my rim has a hairline crack down to the center cap! omg whatelse can go wrong? so now i am just trying to get the freakin car home to rochester so i can store it for the winter and worry about the problem later, but i have no donut for it. my freind offered to lend me the rims off of his firebird which is a 16 inch rim with 245's to use to get the car back home, will this work? will the tire rub at all? i have a 89 conv. plus i have groundeffects but i dont think they will scrape with a 16 so i am wonderiong if the 16 will match upo with out rubbing on the inside
any help or input greatly appreciated!
thanx

I think the setup on your '89 is similar to my '88; there were both 16" and 17" rims offered in '88. So I don't think you will have a problem if the back spacing is OK. You could quickly measure yours and his to be sure.
That's cool of your friend to loan you the wheel. I see no problems except having a hard time steering and wearing his tire in a bad way if you put a lot of miles on it.
