Default Racing Stuff

I heard that Michelin Pilots are the best daily driver tires that are good for Drag racing also. Has anyone tried or had experience with them?

Also, I would like to know if anyone knows of a product that does the following:

1. Everything that a G-Tech does
2. Has a X-Mas tree light for starts
3. Gives RT, 60, 1/8, 100, and 1/4 ET
4. Can write or dump to a PC via serial or IR.

If not, why cant we make one? Between the software thats out there, the G-Tech or the other new box mentioned on the forum this week, and a little handy wiring we should be able to do something. Someone can write a C program that simulates a starting tree, and have it talk to the rest of the apparatus.

We could use this for all sorts of stuff, and it would be good for those of us without a track nearby, or a track that is so packed on Test & Tune that you only get 2 runs.
I have to drive 2 hours on a weeknight just to squeeze in 2 runs, get home at 1 or 2 am and go to work the next day! Pisses off the boss and the wife!

Another note, who else plays NHRA Main Event on their PC, and why dont we get online and run sometime?

the g-tech works strictly by g -forces you have to have it lined up straight . it has numbers to help balance. It will tell you 0-60 1/4 mile time. stopping distance. g- force and negative gs. it will also give you your rear wheel horse power. it is fairly accurate. + or - 5 horses.. all this for 140 bucks.
