Default Brake Diagnosticians??

While out for a spin today a couple of wild turkeys walked across the road Hit the brakes and swerved missing both of them, but right after that I noticed a noise from my left rear tire area:

A pop when I would stop and then take off (like the brake isn't letting go)

A raspy noise with the wheel movement at low speed.

Any diagnostic suggestions are welcome!!

They were the largest turkeys I've ever seen... but maybe it's because we travel so low to the ground?

Thanks.

Pull the rear wheels and make sure the calipers are still bolted on.
Check the pads for uneven wear while you have them off.

Depending on how handy you are you may want to pull the caliper and use a c-clamp to bottom the piston, then do a full bleed on the brake system.

Thanks guys! I was thinking it might just be time to do a brake refurbish as it's going into storage this week.

A wild guess:

The pad shim came out of place.

Could it just be a frozen/dead caliper?

Wild Turkeys, huh? WOW!

Were they 86, or 101?
